Carlos Mora is an Ecuadorian Director of Photography and Photographer with a distinct visual style and a deep passion for storytelling through images. With a career that spans over a decade, his work bridges the worlds of advertising, documentary, and scripted television, capturing powerful narratives with precision, emotion, and artistry.

Carlos honed his craft in Argentina, where he studied filmmaking and specialized in cinematography. There, he discovered a deep fascination with light, color, and composition, which continues to define his visual signature today. He further expanded his skills in drone cinematography, bringing a dynamic aerial perspective to his projects.

Throughout his journey, Carlos has collaborated with top-tier agencies and directors, serving as Director of Photography on more than 300 commercial campaigns, as well as award-winning series and films across Latin America and beyond. His versatility behind the camera has led him to work on projects ranging from fashion editorials to emotionally charged documentaries.

In 2014, his cinematography for the short film Little Block of Cement Dismantles the Sea earned international acclaim, including a nomination at the European Film Awards and awards from prestigious festivals such as Hamburg, Milano, Cork, Black Maria, and Costa Rica. He also received the Genero TV Award for his work on Children of the Sun, a music video by Australian band Dead Can Dance.

In recent years, Carlos has expanded his creative reach by traveling to Asia and Europe, developing audiovisual projects in collaboration with international teams and exploring new cultural perspectives that continue to enrich his visual language.

Beyond production, Carlos has contributed to the next generation of filmmakers as a cinematography professor in Quito and served as a jury member for major industry events including the Latin American Film Festival (2018) and Colibrí Awards (2016).

Today, Carlos continues to work on a global scale, partnering with producers and creatives in the United States, Israel, Argentina, Asia, and Europe. Always seeking to craft compelling visual experiences that resonate deeply with audiences.
